Anthony Joshua loss to a Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk at Tottenhan which led to the loss of his IBF, WBO and WBA Heavyweight titles. This guy almost knocked him out in the final seconds, but won via unanimous decision 117 – 112, 116 – 112 and 115 – 113. This fight to me was like the fight between David and Goliath in the Bible. But at some point both of them were successful giants in their field. But God was with one of them.
You know
what amazes me was his opponent’s reaction, his words and I think he deserves
it because I believe God himself was with him in that fight because he
dedicated all the titles to His son, Jesus Christ that the victory was made
possible by Jesus. And he also said “he just wanted to praise God”. To
me it sounds so amazing that someone could just desire to fight to dedicate
those titles to Jesus Christ in this era. It is only a man who fears God that
will first recognize God and His son Jesus. Those who recognize Jesus Christ are
those who are on the Lords’ side and to them He gives power to become sons and
daughters.
Anthony Joshua is a Nigerian and myself, I am a Nigerian but I respect that man Oleksandr Usyk. I think we should learn to know when God is involved in something. We should first of all make our findings about that man of God or that child of God that you about to intimidate, molest and or conclude his or her matter. God can arise in just a twinkling of an eye to defend and rescue him or her. So my advice is this “Don’t fight a man that has God, in fact any genuine child of God that knows how to draw His Presence in praises and thanksgiving” don’t fight him because something can happen at a point when you didn’t expect it.
OLEKSANDR USYK WORDS: “The only thing I wanted to do with this
fight was to praise my Lord, Jesus Christ and say all comes from Him”. It shook me to my bones that men like
this still exist. It was men like David who did such things. It’s very rare in
this 21st century for you to hear people like this return all the
glory to God talk of even saying thank you Jesus, be it a wrestler, boxer and
others. They are proud feeling and thinking it is their effort and so they take
all glory for themselves. “….Nobody receives anything except God give it to him
because it is Him….” “….that giveth us power to make wealth…”.
I have never
heard Anthony Joshua praise God after his victories despite the name he bears;
well I don’t know if there is any point in time he told God thank you after his
victory in the public like that apart from thanking his fans. In the Bible, Joshua
was a great warrior and a servant of God who took over from Moses. A dedicated
man full of the Holy spirit slaughtered Jericho and took over their cities like
Ai, Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzite, Hivites, Jebusites, Jerusalem,
Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, Eglon and in all these cities he killed all of them and
captured their kings and hanged them on a tree and left no remnants.
When the
elders of Gibeon heard what Joshua and the children of Israel did in Jericho and
Ai they came to Joshua and the children of Israel in disguise pretending to be coming
from afar country and that they have come to make peace with them and persuaded
Joshua and the children of Israel to swore with their God that he will not
slaughter them like he did in Ai and Jericho.
Joshua and
the Israelites sworn by their God never to slaughter them and allow them to
live among them; and when Joshua discovered they were their neighbours and that
they lied to them, Joshua cursed them with the same God of Israel subjecting
them all as slaves to serve the Israelites. And they agreed that whatever
Joshua and the children of Israel wish to do to them let it be so, so far they
live.
And Joshua took
over their lands he conquered and shared them to the twelve tribes of Israel
for God was with Him and the children of Israel.
Anthony Joshua’s opponent reminds of a man called David in
the Bible and we all know the details. I pity Anthony Joshua if he doesn’t
retrace his steps back to God he might not win the rematch that has already
been confirmed. I also believe this guy might have made a vow to God, sow seed
and pay a price where Anthony Joshua has not, spend quality time in God’s
presence just to earn this victory.
A case study
of a certain king in the Bible who sacrificed his only son who supposed to
reign in his stead and God respected the sacrifice and told the Israelites to
turn away from the fight if not they will be greatly slaughtered. Remember this
king was not even a covenant child, yet God had regards for that sacrifice.
As an
African he is, a Nigerian to be specific, I think God can still show him mercy.
But trust me God is not a partial God, it is the one who serves the Lord, have
regards for His son, praise God and do what is right that God will fight for.
Remember the blessings are for those who do.
Our nation
Nigeria is covered with so much innocent blood spilling, injustices,
marginalization, nepotism, favoritism, political bigotry, kidnappings, killings
of God’s children and God is ever angry with the wicked. Recently some of our Nation’s
sport team members in Olympic were disqualified and banned.
Until our
leaders see that what is affecting the careers of our youth off the sea shores and
within the country is as a result of God’s heavy hand of judgment upon the
Nation Nigeria. When three of my spiritual fathers “Bishop David Oyedepo of
Living Faith popularly known as “Winners”, Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis and
Apst Isaac Auta of Divine Voice Grace Church popularly known as DVGC declared
that it’s time for God’s judgment and my Apst Isaac Auta said that things are
still going to get hard day by day but those who are on the Lords’ side shall
be saved; some people were saying don’t mind them “na so dem dey talk”.
Everybody needs
God blessing but nobody wants to surrender to God and allow Him to lead us. Until
our leaders recognize that it is God that can save a nation and repent
genuinely and do what is right and ask for mercy and that it is God who watches
over the affairs of men, stop killing the masses especially the Christians for
saying the truth, more failures will still be happening and our leaders will
continuously fail because a blind man cannot lead another blind man. Two men
cannot come out of a pit if one has not first come out of it before stretching
out a helping hand for the other to come out.
They need to
be enlightened about the whole truth. Whether you like to hear this or not
Jesus is the only way and Him alone can save. Sometimes I wish those killing
Christians could know that the more they kill Christians, the more they
increase. Each blood of one innocent Christian kill is multiply one hundred
times or more. It is just a mathematics that the kingdom of darkness and mere
mortal men can never understand how. Jesus said I will build my church and the
gates of hell will never prevail against it. This is what sustains our faith.
No matter how the gates of hell break loose against the body of Christ; they
can never prevail against it because His words cannot fail and He will rise and
fight for His church.
It happened
before when Elijah thought he was the only remaining prophet but God told him
that He has 7000 prophets that have not bowed to Baal.
And to our
youths, men and women, until we stop selling our rights for a peanut, we go
nowhere. It is not a curse that if we do what is right even if for once, we
will all die and go to hell. Stand for justice, say the truth and defend it no
matter what.
