FOCUS: CELEBRATIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA NEGATIVE IMPACTS
I use to see parents celebrating their children’s birthdays as if there’s no tomorrow. Some will even go an extra miles of borrowing to celebrate the birthday and then after the party, they’ll start facing different kinds of embarrassment from the people they borrowed from. Tell me is that not foolishness in the highest order?
You as a partisan the question you should ask yourself before leaving your house to that party is this, what kind of impact has this person made first to you, to others and to the society at large? We should learn to celebrate impact rather than just dinning, wining and making merry. Celebration is a good thing but some people don’t just get it. They don’t understand seasons to know how and when to celebrate. What am trying to say is that they don’t celebrate at the right time.
Most times as a result of this celebration, we draw attacks and bad blood to ourselves. Our younger generations these days celebrate and lose their pride, contract sicknesses or putting themselves in a family way destroying their future with just some few seconds or hour’s celebration.
Sometimes the devil will say why is he/she celebrating? Why is this one making noise? Do you think the devil is happy about your happiness? We have to be very careful about what we celebrate.
At times when I go online to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Whatsapp status, they are my favorites social media platforms; I’ll just be angry with myself why I even go online. You’ll see people of different calibers posting nonsense, licking tongues as if they are dogs. My dear you are wasting away. You will see someone who doesn’t even have where to sleep, will edit his/her pictures showing one mansion and cars that he/she has never even seen how such a car or mansion looks like.
You are killing yourself gradually, trust me this days it is very simple to get people’s picture to commit evil. And we all are victims on this one. We have our pictures on our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Whatsapp status. If you look closely these days, you will found out that the challenges we all are going through 60 – 70% of it is from our Social Medias.
Telling and showing people what we are not. Exposing that young and innocent child to danger, as if when your pastor asked you to raise an altar for the life of that child to be preserve you did.
Tomorrow you’ll pray, God give my child wisdom, heal him/her and so many other requests. Question is what have you given to God for the life of that child to be preserved? It is so unfortunate that most parents prefer buying alcoholic drinks, setup big party to celebrate a little baby’s birthday but can never buy common seats or something tangible to represent that baby and the family on the altar of God.
What kind of altar are you raising for that child, a drunkard and part riders? If an attack comes now, you’ll run to pastor to come lay his hand and if the pastor refuses, you’ll see him as a wicked man of God, no commitment and nothing to fight for the child’s life. Over the time we have made our pastors to be hard on us. We are the ones who are making them to grow wiser every day. I know you won’t like to hear this one and, or you will find words to justify your acts.
Social media has made lots of our graduates and others to lose their job opportunities. Trust me when I say this because I know what I am saying. In case you don’t know, know this today that 60 – 70% companies home and in abroad that before they employ you, they will have to visit your social media pages and timelines to check on your personality. How far can you represent them in the public? That’s why sometimes you wonder why despite your qualification; the companies only want to employ you as a model, use your images as a brand ambassador and other adverts and you are happy. What causes this was your personality on social media. I am not condemning people who are models, but I believe you worth more than that.
About the social media, I am not totally condemning social medias but we should be smart in using them, they both have side infects. Because if you make a deep research about the people who designed them, you will found out that most of them don’t even have time to use them examples like people who invented televisions. Do you think they have time to watch the television?
All these things are distraction and if we don’t have the fear of God and with the help of the Holy Spirit to checkmates these things; that means we are in trouble. So why are you spending, wasting all night long you supposed pray, read the word of God to empower yourself to chat with one unless person you’ve never meet one on one. Connecting to people that for life you may not even meet them.
Most of our graduates today are not really what they call themselves to be. That is why we have so many of them after coming out from studies, parents still feed them what a shame. Though there are many other factors surrounding unemployment in our society, but I strongly believe that social media is a parasite in the life of students. It will not show so suddenly the effects and vacuums, created but with time.
Today our graduates in diverse fields are just coming out with an empty paper called certificates. The true certificate is in you. And I’m sorry if you are a type that didn’t go through the school and same allow the school to go through you, you will end up serving an illiterate who owns a companies or creative.
Sometimes I wonder why First class student always end up serving second class and third class. Question you should ask yourself is, “WHAT IS THE QUALIFICATION OF MY BOSS”? You can’t live a life of impact to its fullness if you’re serving under people’s companies. You may have a passion to reaching out, extending alms but when you look into your pocket, the bills you have to pay, how in the world will you ever think about impacting others?
I thought you were sent to school so that when you come out, you will become a boss on your own, create jobs opportunities and companies for others who didn’t have such an opportunity of going to school? How then is it that the tables have turned otherwise?
Conclusion
You can’t live a life of impact if you don’t have the fear of God. You can’t live a life of impact if you don’t have something doing especially something of your own. You have to be established. Get something doing, be creative and be at your best. NOTE: “when creativity encounters divine assistance, productivity is guarantee and can never be deny”. So always be at your best and focus.
In other to live this kind of life successfully, you must always consider others your first priority before yourself. Do away with social media and instead wasting you precious time on social Medias invests your time on building your mind and if you are to use social medias; use it wisely and don’t be addicted or allow it to become a god or your source of happiness that if you don’t go online for a day you become moody and hate everything around you. Put it in check and balance it; if not poverty and failure will come knocking on your door.
Social media is a tool to advertise what you have (your creativity). Use it to sell your career or business instead of communicating with people that will add no value to your life.
